Inaugural entry: [About 'The Sentient Satire Atelier']

I certainly have neglected this for awhile. I should stop avoiding this much remiss update. Well, essentially this dA account was created so it could be idle until I left my current job. As a secondary reason later on, to buy prints, but I digress.

For anyone watching this journal, (which in itself seems a bit laughable to me, as a mere dA lurker for now) I can't really "officially" start the Atelier until I at least move in February. Here's to hoping everything else falls into place. Slowly but surely, I will be able to do things again. I took the project load that had been steadily growing since its inception in 2003. Over 10 separate bodies of work. The stack of folios is over a foot tall (>.304 m). Yay.

I guess I owe an explanation what exactly this studio is, has been, and why it has been all talk and bundles of concept notes until now. All my creative pursuits since 2001 have had to defer to my government job. Since I moved to Georgia, I had refined my first original concept enough to warrant trying to do a both a manga and a manuscript (a novel which soon was decided as a 3 story anthology). Well 3 years went by, and more things presented themselves as things will. I wanted to stretch myself and try other media of expression. Playwrighting, screenwriting, and CG sequencing were the others aside from my initial desire to try my hand at being a novelist and mangaka. I just got inspiration from people I looked up to in some fields. I wanted to earn the label "Varicoloured Dramatist" which seems like a hard, but rewarding pursuit. That is now the banner under which my studio operates.

So what does that mean for dA?

What I will be doing hopefully within a few months, is submitting deviations. They will be limited to promotional material for the major works. Visual art consisting of lineart reference, or cover art for any planned tankoubon.

What I won't be presenting as deviations is the core prose for any work. Also absent will be the work of other members of the doujinshi artist collective that is considered a part of the studio's growth.

In a way that means that this account, "SentientSatire" is really in the capacity of the studio director (me) finding a place to put personal milestones of mine for the studio... for critiquing, showcasing, recieving insults, etc.
